I am writing this to offer my greatest support for Ms. Suet-Nie Ang as a piano instructor.  I am writing as a parent whose daughter has been taught by Ms. Ang for over 7 years.  I have seen how my daughter progressed through the years with her music lessons. Ms. Ang started out with simple fun musical tunes when my daughter was only 5 years old. As the years progressed Ms. Ang has established not only the essential fundamentals in my daughter’s musical foundation but she has advanced her in music theory and posture.   My daughter has been gradually progressing in her pursuit of the ABRSM exams (well known leading UK Royal Music association).  Ms. Ang has patiently studied with her the important elements which includes theory, scales, and musical pieces required for the exams.  It is something that requires extensive patience and nurturing.  Ms. Ang provides much thought to teach musical pieces that advance technical skills as well as pieces that my daughter enjoy playing as well.   In addition, Ms. Ang hosts recitals for her students so that they can perform in front of others to build their confidence.  She worked with my daughter to ensure that both technical and presentation skills are developed.    Most importantly, Ms. Ang is very accessible for questions when my daughter contacts her for help.  She responds promptly and genuinely cares for her students’ performances.   In the end, I would highly recommend Ms. Ang as a piano educator for her passion for her students.  

Our daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Suet-Nie Ang for the past two years, and we have been very pleased with her progress. Miss Suet Nie taught my daughter private piano lessons for 4 years and is currently teaching my son. Miss Suet Nie is highly professional and takes each student seriously. She is very patient and caring to her students. In each piano lesson, Miss Suet Nie guides students through all details of each music piece, helping them correct mistakes, improve their playing skills. She not only works on techniques with kids, but also music theory, musicality, sight reading. 

Whenever we have any questions while practicing piano at home, she responds very promptly to help us out. Additionally, all the students in her studio have two performances a year to showcase their progress. And she does her best to support and help her students participate in various piano competitions, as well as annual evaluation, ABRSM exams. If students are not fully prepared, she even makes extra time to help them, like arranging additional lessons and providing mock exams. 

With her instructive and encouraging teaching methods, Miss Suet Nie builds a strong musical foundation for my kids on their musical journey which also gives them confidence in second instrument learning. Both of my kids always enjoyed taking Miss Suet Nie’s piano lessons and improved immensely under her guidance. As parents, we are deeply grateful for her hard work and dedication.

My two children have been taking lesson from Miss Suet-Nie for 3 years.  Miss Suet-Nie is always kind and professional.  In between lessons, when my kids have questions or need clarifications, Miss Suet-Nie always send video demonstration or verbal explanation so that practice can be done correctly.  Learning piano can be a long and frustration process for some students.  Miss Suet-Nie always encourages my children to play different genre of repertoire and also fun duet to keep up their interest.  Other than weekly lesson, my kids also participate in recitals, master class and fund-raising activities recommended by the teacher.  My children also participate in ABRSM exam and did well in both theory and practical.  Miss Suet-Nie went an extra mile, hosting mock exams so students can play in front of their peers and be comfortable and confident during the exam.  I highly recommend Miss Suet-Nie.  

My daughter started her first piano lesson with Ms. Ang 5 years ago. With the wonderfully patient and enthusiastic, Ms. Ang is not only talented at piano but also very passionate. She has rich teaching experiences with her unique teaching method, she pays attention to students’ fingering and focus on the musicality technique. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough good things about Ms. Suet-nie! My daughter Kaia started piano with her in February 2024, having never touched a piano before. Fast forward to her first recital in June, and we were amazed at how beautifully she played!

Ms. Suet-nie has this wonderful way of teaching - she's warm and understanding, but also knows when to push her students to do better. She doesn't let them get away with sloppy technique, which I've come to really appreciate. The foundation she's built for Kaia is rock-solid.

What I love most is how she works with Kaia's natural artistic side. Kaia has always been creative, and Ms. Suet-nie really taps into that during their lessons. She doesn't just teach piano playing - she brings out the artist in her students.

Ms. Suet-Nie Ang was our first piano teacher. We are very glad to have met her. She dedicated herself on building a strong foundation for student. Especially in finger technique. She guides them from simple to more advanced skills, helping them maintain their interest in playing the piano. She assigns homework after each lesson so that children understand their responsibilities. Additionally, she organizes two recitals every year to help students develop the courage to perform on stage. It is a great stage performance opportunity for children.

I met Ms. Suet-Nie Ang in the spring of 2021 through a friend’s introduction. At that time, we had just moved to Morganville, NJ, from another state. Due to the pandemic, my child had been taking online lessons, but progress was slow. I wanted to find a local piano teacher for my children to have in-person lessons. Over the past four years, we’ve had a wonderful experience with Ms. Suet-Nie Ang. I believe she is an excellent teacher and have recommended her to all my friends who are looking for a piano teacher for their children.

Ms. Suet-Nie Ang is a kind and approachable teacher. My children really liked her from the first trial lesson and were eager to listen to her and practice piano seriously.

She places great emphasis on musicality. Even when playing the simplest exercises from the Faber Piano Adventures book, she encourages the children to focus on musicality, making the piece varied and beautiful, not just playing the correct notes. After just a few weeks of studying with Ms. Suet-Nie Ang, my child’s performance became much more expressive, and even an layperson could easily hear the noticeable improvement.

Ms. Suet-Nie Ang is very meticulous in her teaching. When a student encounters difficulty, she will demonstrate repeatedly or assist them with their hand positioning to find the correct technique. She assigns targeted exercises to address specific technical challenges. As long as we follow the teacher's instructions, we can practice effectively.

Ms. Suet-Nie Ang tailors her teaching methods to each student's individual characteristics and works to fully unlock their potential. My daughter, who started learning piano at over 7 years old (fall 2019) and had a slow pace due to online lessons during the pandemic, was at a level below ABRSM Grade 1 when she joined the The Gracenote Piano Studio. After switching to Ms. Suet-Nie Ang in the spring of 2021, she started to learn more challenging pieces. From March 2021 to June 2022, within just over a year, my daughter reached ABRSM Grade 5 level. This progress was beyond what we had ever imagined when we first began, and my child is proud of the progress she has made. Since starting with Ms. Suet-Nie Ang, my daughter’s passion for music has grown.

Years of piano study have also given my child a solid foundation in sight-reading and music theory. She quickly grasped a second instrument in school band and was accepted into the Central Jersey Regional Middle School Band.

Ms. Suet-Nie Ang primarily conducts in-person lessons, but online lessons are also available if needed. This flexibility is very convenient. If we need additional lessons before a competition or exam, she always tries to accommodate us. She is easy to communicate with, and any questions we have are quickly addressed and resolved.

Finally, Ms. Suet-Nie Ang can teach fluently in both Chinese and English. As my native language is Chinese, and I have limited knowledge of music terminology in English, being able to communicate in Chinese has been very convenient for me.
